FREE PASSPORT EXTENSION FOR AMNESTY SEEKING PAKISTANIS IN THE UAE
The government of the UAE has announced that illegal residents living in the country can exit the country or modify their status without facing jail terms and penalties.
The Amnesty scheme is the hottest news across the UAE for the expats who have overstayed their visas or residing illegally which provides a chance for all the violators to change their visa status under the “Protect Yourself via Rectifying Your Status” scheme.
The period to avail this scheme has been started from the 1st of August and will last till the 31st of October.
Many amnesty service centers have been established at the centers of the General Directorates of Residency and Foreign Affairs (GDRFA) across the UAE to entertain the amnesty scheme seekers.
The government of the UAE is showing a great humanitarian gesture for those who have been overstayed. This is not a first scheme by the government, they have announced the same amnesty schemes four times previously including in 2007 and 2013.
In 2007, out of more than 340,000 illegal residents who got amnesty, about 25000 Pakistani nationals changed their status or exited back to home.
In 2013, out of 62,000 exit permits issued to the amnesty seekers, 3000 Pakistanis repatriated to the country.
Like all the other illegal expats in the UAE, Pakistanis will also be able to change their status or exit the country. They can get free out passes or can extend their passport validation up to seven months without any charges.
All the illegal Pakistani residents looking to get benefit out of the scheme can get support from the Pakistani Embassy and Consulate by getting their out passes and extensions in their passport validity without any charges.
The Pakistani Embassy and Consulate in Dubai will be supporting all illegal Pakistanis under this initiative by providing them the out passes and passport extensions, all for free.
