Arrive in St. John’s, North America’s oldest English city, where the colourful row houses instantly set the scene. Settle in before joining your Travel Director and fellow travellers for dinner. The night wraps up with live entertainment and a traditional “Screech-In” ceremony that makes you an honorary Newfoundlander.
Set sail on a Witless Bay Ecological Reserve boat tour to spot puffins and whales (in season). Back on land, tour the city with stops at Signal Hill for sweeping views and Cape Spear, the easternmost point of North America. The evening is yours to enjoy at leisure.
Travel to Cupids, the second-oldest English settlement in North America, then continue to Brigus, a picture-perfect town rich in seafaring history. Explore its stone walls, narrow lanes, and the famous Brigus tunnel before settling in Clarenville for the night.
Step back in time at Cape Bonavista Lighthouse, where whales, puffins, or even drifting icebergs may greet you. Continue to Trinity for a guided walk through its colourful past before returning to Clarenville.
Start with a guided walk in Terra Nova National Park, where inlets and forests meet rugged coastlines. Later, in Gander, hear the extraordinary story of how this community welcomed the world during 9/11—a tale immortalised in the Broadway hit Come From Away.
Pause in King’s Point to see a 50-foot whale skeleton before arriving in Gros Morne National Park. Walk the otherworldly Tablelands Trail, where the Earth’s mantle lies bare. Tonight, enjoy a traditional meal with local hosts at The Fish Sheds overlooking Bonne Bay.
Spend a full day in Gros Morne, exploring rugged coastlines, quiet coves, and the heritage of Lobster Cove Head Lighthouse. The evening is free to relax and soak up the park’s wild beauty.
Follow Newfoundland’s windswept coast to Arches Provincial Park before continuing to L’Anse aux Meadows, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where Vikings set foot over 1,000 years ago. Dine in St. Anthony this evening.
Cross into Labrador by ferry and head to Blanc Sablon for a hands-on visit to a scallop farm. Learn the art of shucking and sample fresh scallops paired with wine.
Step into history at Red Bay, a UNESCO-listed whaling station once bustling with Basque whalers. Visit Point Amour Lighthouse, the tallest in Atlantic Canada, before a relaxed evening at leisure.
Return to Newfoundland and visit Port aux Choix National Historic Site, where the legacies of four ancient cultures converge. End your adventure in Corner Brook with a farewell dinner at your heritage-style hotel.
