An early start for the drive north along the Georgian Military Highway — one of the most scenic road journeys in the Caucasus. Stop at Gudauri mountain pass where the range opens up in every direction. Reach Kazbegi and ascend to Gergeti Trinity Church, perched at 2,170 metres with Mount Kazbek's glacier directly behind it. Return to Tbilisi in the evening.
