Begin your day in the peaceful Arashiyama Bamboo Grove, followed by a visit to the serene Tenryuji Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Admire the glittering Golden Pavilion of Kinkakuji, then savour a traditional kaiseki lunch hosted by the Nakamura family — a true showcase of Japanese hospitality. Conclude your day beneath the vibrant torii gates of Fushimi Inari Shrine.

Wander through Kenrokuen Garden, one of Japan’s most exquisite landscapes, before stepping inside the Nomura Samurai House. Continue to the Ohi Gallery to learn about 350 years of pottery tradition and enjoy matcha tea served in an Ohi bowl. Later, stroll through the Higashi Chaya District and visit Kaikaro, a 200-year-old teahouse once graced by Kanazawa’s elegant geisha.

Fly north to Hokkaido and visit the Okhotsk Ryu-hyo Museum to learn about the region’s fascinating drift ice. Then, board the Aurora icebreaker ship to sail across the frozen Sea of Okhotsk, watching for seals and eagles along the way. End your day relaxing in your lakeside onsen hotel.

Stroll through Sapporo’s highlights, from Odori Park to the famous Clock Tower. Visit the Okurayama Ski Jump before heading to the romantic port town of Otaru, known for its canals and glass-blown artistry. Return to Sapporo for a farewell dinner atop Mt. Moiwa, with panoramic views over the sparkling city below.
