Your winter adventure begins with an included transfer from Osaka to Kyoto, Japan’s ancient capital of culture and tradition. Settle into your hotel before meeting your Travel Director and fellow travellers for a welcome dinner and introduction to the journey ahead.
Begin your day in the peaceful Arashiyama Bamboo Grove, followed by a visit to the serene Tenryuji Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Admire the glittering Golden Pavilion of Kinkakuji, then savour a traditional kaiseki lunch hosted by the Nakamura family — a true showcase of Japanese hospitality. Conclude your day beneath the vibrant torii gates of Fushimi Inari Shrine.
Board the Thunderbird train to Kanazawa, where craftsmanship and culture thrive. Visit a local sake brewery to uncover the artistry behind Japan’s beloved rice wine, followed by a tasting paired with local specialties. Spend your evening exploring Kanazawa’s quiet, lantern-lit streets.
Wander through Kenrokuen Garden, one of Japan’s most exquisite landscapes, before stepping inside the Nomura Samurai House. Stroll through Sapporo’s highlights, from Odori Park to the famous Clock Tower.
